Zambia FETP launched Cohort IV Frontline
The Zambia Field Epidemiology Training Program (ZFETP) launched Cohort IV of the Frontline FETP, comprising 21 participants drawn mainly from districts across the country. The first workshop was held 8 -12 April 2019, while the second workshop was held from 24 - 28 June 2019.
Participation in conferences
- A Cohort II graduate of Zambia Advanced FETP: Mr. Francis Nanzaluka made a poster presentation at the 68th Epidemiology Intelligence Service (EIS) Conference which was held from 29 April – 2 May 2019.
- A Cohort I Advanced FETP resident made three oral presentations at a national quality improvement conference held in Lusaka, Zambia from 4 – 6 June 2019 at the Intercontinental Hotel, Zambia.
Outbreaks and epidemic preparedness
Dr Fred Kapaya, a recent graduate of Zambia Advanced FETP led an investigation of a outbreak of cholera in Mpulungu Township of Zambia. Other districts which recorded cases include: Kampembwa, Isoko and Kabyolwe.
The Zambia FETP Program Director led a training on Ebola preparedness and response for rapid response teams in the Eastern Province of Zambia.
