West Africa Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Program

The West Africa Field Epidemiology & Laboratory Training Program (WA-FELTP) is a two-year regional training program for francophone countries in West Africa that are part of the Network. The program was established in 2007 and has trainees from Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger and Togo
The main objective of the WA-FELTP is to strengthen the national surveillance system and enhance public health capacity by developing a cadre of health professionals with advanced skills in applied epidemiology in Francophone West Africa.
The WA-FELTP offers a two-year Master of Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Management and is hosted at the University of Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso.
The WA-FELTP partners include: WHO's Multi Disease Surveillance Center, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), USAID, West Africa Health Organization (WAHO), University of Ouagadougou, and AFENET.
