Angola Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Program
The program began in 2011 and was preceded by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Ministry of Health, Rector of Agostinho Neto University, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the African Field Epidemiology Network (AFENET). The first cohort of the Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Program began with ten residents of whom nine successfully completed their master’s degrees. During the period of validity of the program, an additional six master’s degrees were conferred in the second cohort in 2016, and eight short courses in field and laboratory epidemiology were completed.
