A healthier Africa
Mission
The mission of AFENET is to ensure effective prevention and control of epidemics and other priority public health problems in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Goal
AFENET is committed to strengthening Field Epidemiology and Public Health Laboratory Capacity and to effectively contributing to addressing other major Public Health problems in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Objectives
- To strengthen Field Epidemiology capacity in Africa
- To enhance Public Health Laboratory capacity in Africa
- To strengthen surveillance systems for priority communicable and non-communicable diseases (including Maternal and child health, HIV and Aids, Tuberculosis, Malaria etc).
- To advance the sharing of regional expertise in Field Epidemiology and Laboratories.
